The presented article discusses the history of the oldest, though not exclusively gymnastic club in České Budějovice, which was the sharpshooter's corps. It had an extraordinary position among České Budějovice clubs for a long period. Due to its armed content, an importance to the city defence, order maintenance and its great loyalty, mostly of the German membership, it had an extraordinary position among České Budějovice clubs for a long period. However, it has completely lost its exclusive status after the foundation of Czechoslovakia, when it became practically only maturing society. Part of the abstract also deals with the development of shooting in the city during interwar period, when many newly established corporations ran the shooting sport. Large number of these corporations shows considerable popularity of this range during this period but also his considerable organizational fragmentation and complexity.
