The purpose of the present study was comparison of muscle coordination and timing of muscles participating in the fencing lunge between the group of elite fencers and fencers of lower performance level. The participants were formed by members of Czech fencing representatives who are engaged in this discipline an average of 13,8 years and fencers of lower performance level who are in this event an average of 3,8 years. Due to long training process of elite fencers we anticipated coherence in movement pattern during realization of this motor task. The visual stimulation for the initation of fencing lunge was used Fitrosword equipment. After lit red LED shoud fencers hit the target as quickly as possible. For monitoring of the electrical aktivity of muscles (EMG) was used ME6000 equipment. By this study we found differences in the timing of involvement observed muscles between two groups of fencers.
