The presented article deals with the history of physical education and sport at YMCA's summer camps in Czechoslovakia. These camps were the area, where the sports, which were still relatively unknown in Czechoslovakia in the twentieth century, started their growing. This "American sports" came to the Czechoslovakia through the organization YMCA, which did a lot for their next spreading. A lot of campers played them at these summer camps. Some of them have become our representatives in those sports. In addition, YMCA organized a lot of training courses at these places. YMCA's summer camps greatly contributed with basketball, volleyball, softball and some other sports spreading in Czechoslovakia. With the approaching Second World War, these camps gradually disappeared, because YMCA started to limit its activity. In 1943 this organization was canceled. The permanent restoration of YMCA camps and its activities occurred in 90's. This contribution has been compiled from previously unpublished information from archive materials, period magazines and news reports which haven't previously been systematically utilized.
