Changes of body fat mass of participants in longitudial pilot project of teachers' health support

Presented results were collected during the research process of the international project EU INTEREG IV- 16 PACZion (2008-2012) - "Passau-České Budějovice union for support of teachers health", which was realized in University of South Bohemia, Faculty of Education, Department of Health Education in a cooperation with Passau University, Faculty of Education, Department of Education in the period October 2008 - February 2012. The experimental sample was created from 25 teachers from South Bohemia Region (3 males in age interval 56 - 60, 22 females in age interval 41 - 60) active in the teacher's profession. In the sample were teachers from all school types - from kindergarten educationalists till university readers. During the research process oriented on health supportive intervention and optimization of the teacher's life style, the analyses of weight, height, and Body fat mass (controlled by Bio impedance method) were provided. During the reporting period, the average weight of the reference group of 25 participants from the initial 74.9 kg to 74.6 kg. Average percentage content of fat in the body decreased from the initial 35.5% to 29.1% and the average amount of fat from 27.1 kg to 22.3 kg.On the base of statistics analyses was found out that during the project realization significant decreasing of body fat mass was succeeded. Therefore it is possible to declare that Bio impedance method can be successfully used as objective criteria of the evaluation of different intervention programs or projects.
