The aim of this study is to showcase possibilities of electromyography analysis of open movement skills with regards to symmetry of individual steps of chosen cyclic skill. It is a case study where 36 year old skiing instructor was used as a proband. Comparison of kinematic analysis and measuring of electric activities of chosen muscles using electromyography were two basic methods we used. The results of symmerty evaluation using ASI coefficient (3,72 - 6,62) are showing that movements during all kinds of skating techniques are not absolutely symmetric, but level of assymetry is very low. The movements are not exactly the same but they are similar. From the kinesiology point of view we can call this quasisymmetric locomotion. Variation coeficient seems useful to assess stability of skill execution by using length of stride. Variation range can be used to exactly assess stride variability of skating technique.
