The presented article is focused on the recapitulation of establishment and development of the Department of Physical Education and Sport, Faculty of Education in Ceske Budejovice, which reached the 65th anniversary of its establishment in 2017. From this perspective, it is one of the oldest educational institutions of sporting education with continuous content of its activities in the country. In this brief recapitulation of its development, there is an evident progressive development of modestly material and personnel equipped department, which it has been at its beginning to the present situation, where it represents at level of the Czech Republic an important and generally respected part of education of physical education specialists with a long tradition of continuous activity, with wide range of accreditation, with high performance in the optional physical education and in our country with a good material equipment.
