The goal of the study was to compare internal workload response during a match and basketball-specific fatigue protocol. The study involved a total of 29 male basketball players (age 17.4 ± 1.6 years; body height = 184.7 ± 8.2 cm and weight = 75.7 ± 15.6 kg) of U17 and U19 categories. Heart rate, blood lactate concentration, and Borg scale were used. We found out moderately strong correlation between heart rate during a match and basketball-specific fatigue protocol. Similar results were detected in blood lactate concentration.

Keywords: heart rate; specificity; blood lactate concentration
