The Contribution to the first international successes of Czechoslovak women's basketball team after the World War II

The presented article deals with the Czechoslovakian women basketball especially on the international field. The paper is mainly focused on basketball representation from 1950 to 1952. It also outlines the beginnings of the Czechoslovak women's national team from the first unofficial presence in the international field in 1923 to the first participation in the official European Championships in 1950. It was in the years 1950 to 1952 that the Czechoslovak women's basketball team achieved its first official international success. In 1950, the team won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Budapest. Two years later, in 1952, the representation continued this success in Moscow. At the third European Championships, the Czechoslovak women's national team won silver. Czechoslovak players belonged to the European top in the 1950s. They remained at this level even after 1952.
