Physical-educational organization Orel in the eras of the Second republic and Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia

The presented article discusses the history of the Orel organization during the eras of the Second republic and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Czechoslovak Orel organization developed significantly during the peaceful First republic era. Nevertheless the happy period was affected by political events of the late 1930s and the first half of 1940s. Signing of the Munich Agreement and the break-up of Czechoslovakia meant significant lost of members, material and background for the Orel organization. Nevertheless, even after the proclamation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the Orel members tried to continue in their activities. But their subsequent contribution in the resistance led to the destruction of the Orel organization.
