Assessment of coordination performance in young sportsmen

The work deals with the problem of standards of coordination abilities in young talented sportsmen aged 11 to 15. The reason to work on this topic was that teachers and coaches do not have any diagnostic tools to measure the quality of coordination of their sportsmen in sport clubs and sport classes. The result of testing 2256 talented sportsmen is presented in the tables of standards which can be used in athletics, soccer, ice-hockey, volleyball, handball and basketball. The work contributes to the partial updating of the knowledge in the area of motoricity of children of the middle school age. The measurements were performed as part of the grant project KEGA No. 3/3022/05 under the title "Standards of coordination abilities for sport classes and schools", which was solved between 2005 through 2007 at four workplaces in Nitra, Bratislava, Banska Bystrica and Prešov.
