Teaching physical education from the viewpoint of the roma ethnic community

The author makes survey about the current situation in the classes of physical education of the Roma ethnic community in the region of Ružomberok. He analyses the current state of the courses in the second stage of elementary schools attended by the Roma ethnic community in the region of Ružomberok. He focuses mainly on the content of the classes, on the conditions of realization of the physical education from the viewpoint of the Roma and Non-Roma pupils. He points out mainly to some possible solutions of the existing problem - indifference of the Roma ethnic community towards education. There were 202 elementary school pupils that participated on the research. They were to fill in an anonymous questionnaire. The research results have confirmed an enormous indifference of the Roma ethnic community pupils towards the physical education. As many as 73,3% of the Roma pupils do not express any interest in this subject.
