- KTVŠ FHV UMB Banská Bystrica, SK
The aim of our research was to analyze the background of university students' movement activity, the frequency of its performance and the hierarchy of the most occurring motivational factors of doing sports as for the students at chosen faculties of the Matej Bel University. There were 177 males and 312 females out of the total number of 489 probands. The average age in the group was 21,1. To gain some empirical data about the movement activity of our students a method via questionnaire was used. It follows from the results that the most frequent motive for either of the sex to do sports was physical well-being. The most frequently performed movement activities during the university studies for men are basketball, football, volleyball and floorball. The most frequently performed movement activities were according to the female students swimming, aerobic, cycling and skiing. The analysis of intersexual differences in frequencies of performance of sport activities has shown us that the involvement of women in an educational gymnastic and sports activity is comparable, and even higher than that of men.
