In 2005 the number of referees in the top basketball league changed from two to three. It was a change that was set by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). We try to verify that the change of number of referees will have a positive influence on the basketball games concerning increased objectivity of officiating. To achieve the defined aim we selected two indicators, which are monitored by three independent observers. For evaluation we used in direct observation of DVD - recorded games. The acquired data are evaluated by mathematic - statistic methods and presented transparently in graphs and tables.
