Team structure analysis at worldchampionships in ice hockey regarding players' age since 1970

Age structure of elite team in world championships developed in dependencies on changes in competition organization. Some trends in this way however keep behind saved. Especially handle about players average age. In seventieth even eightieth years was player average age 26, let us say 25 years. Lately happen to enhancement average age as far as on 27,6 years. It is evidently partly in virtue of competition organization changes, which already in present isn't so physical demanding as in the past. Partly happen to enhancement hereof average age in consequence in changes of team structure. Coaches very often selected players from two different groups. Player ages round 26 years, who have very good actual performance and player ages above 30 years old, who arrange games above all with their experiences, tactics and organization games. We hope that this study helps coach in their work, especially by player selection and optimizing team structure.
