Our work deals with an analysis comparing three types of start (mid-low start, low start and low start with a diagonal arm positioning). The main goal was to determine what type of start, performed by sprinter with Cerebral Palsy, was closest to the optimal start position described in the books and what start was the most effective for reaching of the best time for 10 metres distance. The video analysis, description of key start position and time for 10 metres distance were used for the comparison. An analysed group consisted of sprinter with Cerebral Palsy at the level of Czech representation. The sprinter with Cerebral Palsy training process (disabled sportsmen with central disorder of movement) and pathology of their disability demanded a special training attitude. Our research resulted in the following way: the best start was the mid-low one for analysed sprinter from the point of view of performing quality of start position included three criterions (extension of the body, an angle between thighs and an angle between thigh and trunk) On the other hand the low start was the worst. But best start, depending on times reached for 10 metres distance, was the low start with diagonal arm positioning. We assume that application of knowledge, followed from our research, will complete the training methods with implements specially meant for spastics class T38.
