The present paper focuses on the Analysis of the swimming capabilities of students selected primary schools in the Slovak Republic. Participants were 16 schools (secondary schools and secondary schools), where it was tested a total of n = 212 subjects (n = 117 men and women n = 95). At the time the study was the mean age of the study group of 12,15 years, mean body height was 167,5cm and the mean body weight of 54,4 kg. Testing was conducted at the end of swimming exercises. Monitoring focused on the technique of swimming methods crawl, breaststroke and character, and at the same time achieved at distances of 25 meters freestyle, 25m breaststroke and 25 meters symbols. The results point to a situation where the technique of swimming method was executed fastest swimming style crawl (22,7sec), the second set of the fastest swimmers in our group was swimming way breast (29,6sec) and the slowest of stroke character (36,5sec). Analysis of selected techniques of stroke was observed in swimming style is most lacking in character design subcategories elbow flexed at an angle of 90-100°, which managed to make only 26,4% of students reporting file in swimming breaststroke way we recorded at least mastered the descriptive characteristics of the movement of the legs in the subcategory range kick: knees hip width only 32,1% of pupils and the last swimming style crawl as we have seen at least mastered the movement pattern of the arms at the elbow flexion subcategory (90-120°) at the stage of attraction which showed, on average, perform optimally only 27,6% of pupils. Based on the results we can conclude that the current level of the swimming capabilities of children between the age groups studied is insufficient respectively. weak.
