The influence of changes of tennis rules on the course of a tennis match - mathematical model
- Jihočeská univerzita v Českých Budějovicích, Pedagogická fakulta, Katedra matematiky
The paper deals with the impact of legislative changes of tennis rules on the course of a tennis match and it compares three different variants of the new rules. For each of the variants, the change that the player who serves will win the whole game is calculated depending on parameter p representing the probability that the serving player scores a point. The second part of the paper presents calculations of an average duration of a game regarding all three variants based on the same parameter.
