The middle-distance and long-distance runners in the Czech Republic only seldom get to the world elite. It is needed for a runner to get to his or her limit performance to be talented and to go through optimal training load. We recognize two extreme methods to achieve supreme performance level during teen age: early specialization and age corresponding training. With the help of analysis of the best young runners' performance at a given age and in adulthood we were finding out if there is any connection between top runners' performance during teen age and in adulthood. The performance of the best runners in the Czech Republic is factually higher then personal record of the top teen age runners. They couldn't get their limit performance. Probably because of accelerated performance development. They also achieve the top performance level earlier then it is usual. Only a low percentage of these runners can improve their performance in adulthood. The top performance during teen age can't guarantee the top performance in adulthood as well as achievement of individual limit performance.
