The purpose of the paper is to provide information about and present results of the public opinion survey on the current situation in the Czech sports environment concerning application of social responsibility principles. Closer attention is paid to the involvement and support of CSR in the two most popular domestic team sports (football and hockey), both from their highest governing bodies (Czech Hockey or the Football Association of the Czech Republic) and participating teams of the highest football and hockey league competitions. In addition, some other major CSR initiatives in a number of other areas of the Czech sports environment are presented, such as basketball, handball, floorball and golf. In his article, the author combines the conclusions of secondary data analysis, website content analysis and own empirical research based on a series of semi-structured interviews.
